In the psychology literature, there are many references to the fact that we make 35,000 decisions per day, of which about 70 are real decisions that are made consciously. Some of these include what to wear, what to eat, whether to get coffee before or after arriving at the office, and so on.

Our research focuses on not those 70 routine decisions per day, but the Big Decisions that can affect the trajectory of your career, life, or lives of your kids.

Rather than calling them “Big Decisions” we call them Tectonic Decisions, because like the tectonic activity of the Earth’s crust, these decisions are Important, but Infrequent.

When you feel your heart racing and your palms sweating, please stop your decision-making process since you are approaching a Tectonic Decision. Take a breath, review the lessons of failure presented here, and avoid the Stupidities at all costs.

Learn about how Tectonic Decisions are often misguided by the Stupidities.
